Abstract
THE FEDERAL COURTS HAVE NOT DETERMINED THE EXTENT TO WHICH PROBATION OFFICERS MAY SEARCH AND EXAMINE A PAROLEE'S PERSON OR PLACE OF ABODE WITHOUT BEING SUBJECT TO CONSTITUTIONAL RESTRAINTS. TWO ALTERNATIVES ARE SUGGESTED IF THIS AUTHORITY IS DEEMED DESIRABLE AWAIT DECISIONS OF TEST CASES, OR REQUIRE A WAIVER OF FOURTH AMENDMENT PRIVILEGES AS AN EXPRESS CONDITION OF PAROLE.
