          Abstract
              Individual papers discuss trends in German extradition policy, efforts to improve the role of the legal and criminal justice systems in economic development efforts in other countries with which Germany is involved, and programs to address organized crime in Germany. Additional papers examine the role of the criminal law in environmental protection, the role of Germany's public prosecution office, the use of computers in the German criminal justice system, the basic components of crime prevention, urban policy and crime prevention, efforts to prevent hate crimes and other forms of violence, police efforts in crime prevention, the prevention program of the Criminal Investigation Department, and victim protection in criminal proceedings.
