This booklet presents probation service statistics based on estimates for England and Wales during the period of 1980-81.
Abstract
Data on probation staff and probationers and on probation costs and expenditures are presented in tables for each county. Costs are expressed as an amount per 1,000 population aged 15-29 years. Probation/aftercare expenditures and number of staff both rose above previous years' totals. Graphs are included.
