Abstract
THE AUTHOR CONCLUDES THAT IN INDIA IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO HAVE UNARMED POLICE LIKE THE BRITISH POLICE WHICH IS LARGELY A FORCE OF WELL-EDUCATED AND WELL-PAID PERSONNEL. THE TYPE OF WEAPONS USED BY THE INDIAN POLICE FOR CROWD CONTROL ARE REVIEWED.
