Abstract
A financial disclosure index lists all faculty participating in a sponsoring activity, along with disclosures of any significant financial interest or other relationship for each faculty member. Summaries of special sessions encompass the following topics: forensic issues in hate crimes; building a career in forensic science; and forensic investigations of deaths involving political activists, ethnic and religious minorities, and incarcerated individuals in the United States and foreign countries. The summaries of eight "Breakfast Seminars" address issues in the investigation of various types of crimes, including multiple killings, homicides in which bodies are encased in concrete, unusual victimless crimes, determination of the mental health states of offenders from knife wounds, bite marks, and digital evidence. Summaries are provided for 26 workshops that encompass various forensic techniques and methodologies, as well as guidelines for investigating various types of crimes, including child abduction, homicide, violent sex offenses, drug-facilitated sexual assault, and computer-related crimes. Summaries are also provided for "Scientific Sessions" on the following topics: criminalistics, engineering sciences, general topics, jurisprudence, odontology, pathology/biology, physical anthropology, psychiatry and behavioral science, questioned documents, and toxicology.
