This report of the Australian Institute of Criminology identifies promising crime prevention programs that have been implemented in Australia and elsewhere around the world.
Abstract
The focus of the report is on situational crime prevention, developmental crime prevention, community crime prevention, and crime prevention measures by criminal justice agencies. Noting the proliferation of crime prevention initiatives in Australia and abroad, the report is selective in its examination of crime prevention programs and attempts to focus on programs directed at crime problems that are significant in Australia. The authors believe the program descriptions provide convincing evidence that crime prevention programs can reduce crime in a cost-effective manner. References
