Abstract
This report from the United Nations Economic and Social Council contains a summary of activities of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) with regard to providing technical and capacity-building assistance to Member States. The report was developed pursuant to a resolution from the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice entitled "Promotion of activities relating to combating cybercrime, including technical assistance and capacity-building." Activities by the UNODC in regards to this resolution include continued consultations with the Council of Europe Cybercrime Convention Committee and a partnership in the Commonwealth Cybercrime Initiative. UNODC also worked to support the Expert Group to Conduct a Comprehensive Study on Cybercrime, the first meeting which was held in Vienna, Austria in January 2011. The second meeting of the Expert Group was held in February 2013 which recommended that continued work be done in the area of cybercrime. An executive summary of the comprehensive study and its results are provided in this report.
