A PSYCHOLOGICAL STUDY AT INMATES ARRIVING AT THE MOGELKAER OPEN YOUTH PRISON, CONCERNING ENVIRONMENTAL AND PERSONALITY FACTORS AS CONTRIBUTING TO DELINQUENCY.
Abstract
THE STATISTICAL DATA GATHERED FOR THE STUDY REVEALS THAT THE SUBJECTS WERE UNDERPRIVILEGED. PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS USED WERE THE WAIS (WECHSLER ADULT INTELLIGENCE SCALE), THE BENDER MOTOR GESTALT TEST AND THE ROHRSCHACH TEST. THEY ALSO WERE INTERVIEWED. THE RESULTS OF THESE TESTS REFLECT THE DIFFICULTIES THE CLIENTS OF INSTITUTIONS LIKE MOGELKAER HAVE IN FINDING STABLE OBJECTS OF IDENTIFICATION BECAUSE OF THE FREQUENT SHIFTS FROM ONE INSTITUTION TO ANOTHER. AS A PREREQUISITE FOR LONG-TERM SUCCESS IN CRIME PREVENTION, THE AUTHOR SEES THE CREATION OF PERSONAL TREATMENT PROGRAMS. --IN DANISH
