This document reports on activities at the 106th International Training Course to study ways of more effectively administrating juvenile justice.
Abstract
Course participants discussed: (1) situation and trends of juvenile delinquency (general trends, particular points in specific kinds of juvenile delinquency, causes and background of juvenile delinquency); (2) situation and challenges regarding dispositions rendered by criminal justice agencies such as the court (basic dispositions, dispositions tailored to specific needs and problems, appropriate agencies to render dispositions, information gathering); (3) institutional treatment (facilities, equipment and living conditions, personnel, treatment programs, effectiveness); (4) community-based programs (supervision from administrative and treatment perspectives, effectiveness); and (5) juvenile delinquency prevention measures by criminal justice and other agencies (police measures, cooperation with families, schools, workplaces, community mobilization and participation).
