Abstract
GUIDELINES ARE ALSO PROVIDED FOR SUCH AREAS AS PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS, GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY, METHODS OF HANDLING POLICE CALLS, AND PROCEDURES FOR FIRE DISPATCHING. DUE TO THE VAST DIFFERENCES IN CONSOLE EQUIPMENT, RADIO SYSTEMS, AND OTHER ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO INCLUDE SPECIFIC TECHNICAL OPERATING DETAILS IN THIS HANDBOOK. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT EACH DISPATCHING CENTER PREPARE A WRITTEN OPERATION PROCEDURE FOR ITS OWN PARTICULAR EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING DETAILS ON CHANNEL SELECTION, REPEATER DISABLING, MAIN-STANDBY SELECTION AND OTHER TECHNICAL DETAILS.
