This book contains data on American and Canadian Indian organizations, enterprises, significant individuals, population centers and data sources.
Abstract
The volume is divided into four main sections. The first section contains source listings, with address information, chief personnel, and brief descriptions of activities in 20 categories. Listings are arranged either alphabetically or alpha-geographically, with explanatory notes detailing data sources. The second section is solely Canadian listings in eight categories. The third section is a bibliography of approximately 4,500 in-print books and a listing of publishers’ addresses and telephone numbers. The fourth section contains approximately 2,500 biographical sketches of Native Americans prominent in Indian affairs, business, the arts and professions, as well as non-Indians active in many fields of significance to American Indians.
