Abstract
This paper describes the Canadian national field trial comparing 1,8-diazafluorn-9-one and 1,2-indanedione-zinc chloride. After approximately 1,400 exhibits were processed by each reagent, the results indicate that there was no significant difference between the two solutions in recovering the most identifiable latent fingerprints. The solutions were used to process casework exhibits over a 12-month period at eight Royal Canadian Mounted Police Forensic Identification Services sections across the country. (Published Abstract)
