Abstract
CONFRONTED WITH STATISTICAL EVIDENCE THAT THE INCIDENCE OF RAPE IS INCREASING, POLICE MUST REJECT OUTDATED APPROACHES TO THE CRIME. THE AUTHOR BRIEFLY REVIEWS THE TWO-DAY PROGRAM WHICH INCLUDED SESSIONS ON RAPE AS A SOCIAL FACTOR, THE NEW PENNSYLVANIA PENAL CODE LAW ON RAPE, MOTIVATIONS OF THE RAPIST, AND TECHNIQUES OF INVESTIGATION AND QUESTIONING OF THE VICTIM AND SUSPECTS.
