POLICE DEPARTMENT USES A PUBLICATION OF POLICE RELATED MATERIALS, TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF THE NEED FOR POLICE TRAINING AND THE SCARCITY OF TIME TO PROVIDE IT.
Abstract
ACCORDING TO THE AUTHOR. THE IDEAL UTILIZATION OF THE TRAINING KEY WOULD BE TO DISCUSS BRIEFLY SELECTED ISSUES EACH DAY BEFORE THE MEN GO ON DUTY. IN RICHMOND, SUPERVISORS SPOT CHECK INDIVIDUALS AT ROLL CALL ON SUCH SUBJECTS AS REVISIONS IN LAW OR CHANGES IN DEPARTMENTAL MATTERS. IN ADDITION TO RANDOM QUESTIONS ASKED DURING ROLL CALL LINEUP, MEN IN THE PATROL DIVISION RECEIVE A TWO HOUR REVIEW SESSION EACH MONTH. THE RICHMOND DEPARTMENT ALSO UTILIZES THE KEYS TO DEVELOP QUESTIONS WHICH PLAY A PART IN PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATIONS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
