Abstract
THE COMPUTER FURNISHES LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WITH ITS CAPACITY TO STORE VAST AMOUNTS OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON ALMOST INSTANTANEOUS RECALL. CASE HISTORIES, WARRANTS OUTSTANDING, STOLEN ITEMS, CAN BE RETRIEVED AND EXCHANGED WITH OTHER JURISDICTIONS IN INVESTIGATING REPORTED CRIMES. ADDITIONALLY, THE COMPUTER CAN PROVIDE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION FOR PRESENT AND FUTURE PROGRAMS FOR DEPLOYING STAFF AND PREPARING FISCAL REPORTS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
