This report highlights the activities and accomplishments during 1980 of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. The bulk of the report consists of tables.
          Abstract
Tables present data on police organization and administration, recruiting and training, crime and traffic offenses, police recreational activities, and on other police duties. Manpower and equipment shortages were some of the main handicaps facing the police force during the year. The rate of crime increased from 11,586 in 1979 to 12,150 in 1980. This increase occurred mostly in New Providence, which accounts for more than 75 percent of the total crime. Offenses showing steady increases were attempted murder, rape, sexual offenses, robbery, burglary, housebreaking, 'shopbreaking,' and stealing.
