BASED ON A NOVEMBER 13, 1974 SURVEY, THIS REPORT PRESENTS THE SALARY RANGES FOR POLICE PERSONNEL IN 144 VIRGINIA MUNICIPALITIES AND INFORMATION ON HOURS AND BENEFITS FOR 129 MUNICIPALITIES.
Abstract
FOR EACH MINICIPALITY, INFORMATION ON POPULATION, TOTAL POLICE PERSONNEL, AND SALARIES FOR EACH POLICE POSITION AND RANK ARE PROVIDED. THE INFORMATION ON WORKING CONDITIONS INCLUDES NUMBER OF DAYS WORKED PER WEEK, NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER DAY, DAYS OF ANNUAL LEAVE, NUMBER OF SICK DAYS WITH PAY, COMPENSATION FOR OVERTIME OR COURT TIME, AND INFORMATION ON WHO SECURES AND PAYS FOR POLICE UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT.
