OFFICERS WERE ASSIGNED TO SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA TO ESTABLISH RAPPORT WITH STUDENTS AND TO STOP DISRUPTIVE INFLUENCE OF LOITERING NONSTUDENTS.
Abstract
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM WAS FOR STUDENTS TO SEE THE UNIFORMED OFFICER IN HIS ENFORCEMENT ROLE AND TO ACCEPT THIS ROLE AS A NECESSARY PART OF THE POLICE FUNCTION. THE PROGRAM HELPED TO SOLVE MANY OF THE INTERNAL DISCIPLINE PROBLEMS AND IMPROVED RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN STUDENTS AND POLICEMEN.
