COMMUNITY BASED EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR JUVENILE DELINQUENTS IN CALIFORNIA WHICH WAS DESIGNED AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO CORRECTIONAL CONFINEMENT.
Abstract
THE PROJECT USED SEVERAL REHABILITATIVE APPROACHES, INCLUDING REMEDIAL TUTORING, COUNSELING, TRAINING IN CRAFTS, RECREATION, FIELD TRIPS, AND EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCES. PARTICIPANTS INCREASED THEIR READING SKILLS AND SCHOOL ATTENDANCE RATE AS A RESULT OF THIS PROGRAM.
