The solution of crime uses modern science in many ways.
Abstract
These include examination of bloodstains in the laboratory, fingerprint classification and searching, and computer-mediated direction of crime investigation systems. The author provides examples of the involvement of science in crime solution. These include discussion of the DNA fingerprinting process, modern fingerprint methods, and crime investigation systems. The author hopes that this paper will help to stimulate interest of scientists to look at the "who" of crime rather than the "why." 5 figures, 2 references. (Author abstract modified)
