Abstract
Articles on computer security address computer facility security, assessing the effectiveness of a computer system, detecting and preventing computer crime, and prosecuting computer criminals. Discussions of disaster and emergency planning consider antipanic planning against sudden disaster, bomb emergency planning, and planning for employee strikes. Guidance for executive protection covers security planning, dealing with crisis situations, conducting business amidst terrorist threats, handling vehicle attacks, and 24-hour executive protection. Discussion of personnel identification and access control includes consideration of the selection of identification cards, planning a controlled access system, personal identification by signature verification, and controlling access for a number of buildings and for nuclear power installations. Among the topics considered under security against employee theft are management style as a crime deterrent, procedures for recovering stolen goods, and proof of loss in fidelity bond claims. Papers on proprietary information and document security advise on reducing the risks of exposure, protecting essential records, and microfilming. Figures and a few footnotes are included.
