THIS TRAINING GAME FOR SECURITY DIRECTORS IS BASED ON THE EXPERIENCES OF SIMULATION AND GAMING THEORY AND PRACTICE AS IT PROVIDES 'REAL' PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED OVER AN EIGHT YEAR PERIOD OF SIMULATION.
Abstract
THIS 'GAME' PROVIDES THE STUDENT, MANAGER, OR NEOPHYTE SECURITY PROFESSIONAL WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONDENSE MANY YEARS OF SECURITY AND LOSS PREVENTION MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE INTO A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THE PLAYER IN THE ROLE OF THE SECURITY DIRECTOR IS PRESENTED THE PROBLEM OF DEVELOPING A WORKABLE SECURITY PROGRAM FOR THEIR ORGANIZATION WHILE DEALING WITH THE ATTACKS OF A DETERMINED OPPOSITION BENT ON CAUSING MAXIMUM LOSSES FOR THE COMPANY. THE PLAYERS WHO ASSUME THE ROLE OF THE OPPOSITION LEARN (1) HOW TO CAUSE PROBLEMS, (2) THE KEY INGREDIENTS REQUIRED TO PRODUCE A WIDE VARIETY OF OPERATIONAL SECURITY PROBLEMS, (3) HOW TO EITHER UNCOVER THE WEAKNESSES IN A PROGRAM, OR (4) HOW TO SET UP THE CONDITIONS FOR SIGNIFICANT LOSSES TO OCCUR. THE KIT INCLUDES AN INSTRUCTION BOOK, PLAYING BOARD, DIE, FAKE MONEY, SCORESHEETS, AND OTHER GAME SUPPLIES. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
