Although leaky coaxial cable sensors have been around since the early 1970's, this still developing technology is considered relatively new.

Abstract

"Small Cable" of approximately 0.25 inches outer diameter are being marketed. The results are a lower cost for hardware and installation. This proven technology can now address the much broader industrial and VIP residential market for covert outdoor security products.
