The author examines the relationship between social change and criminal justice policy in Hungary, taking into account criminal justice system principles and societal relations.

Abstract

He argues that the main principles of criminal justice system policy must be based on social relations, including economic conditions, social change, level of social consciousness, and the incidence of crime. Criminal justice system principles are discussed in terms of the rule of law and constitutionality, strict legality, diversion from courts and criminal procedures, presumption of guilt or innocence, severity of punishment, sentencing, amnesty, law enforcement, and social crime prevention.
