THIS ARTICLE DISCUSSES THE ORIENTATIONS AND SYLLABI OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCE COURSES GIVEN TO FUTURE SENIOR RANKING OFFICERS AT THE FRENCH NATIONAL POLICE COLLEGE.
Abstract
THE OVERALL AIM OF THESE COURSES IS TO GIVE THE STUDENTS DEEPER INSIGHT INTO THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF RANK AND TO SHARPEN THEIR JUDGMENT AND TO AVOID THE DEPENDENCE ON STEREOTYPED SOLUTIONS. THE THREE COURSES DEAL WITH PSYCHOLOGY AND SOCIOLOGY, CRIMINOLOGY AND TOWN POPULATION CHARACTERISTICS.
