ALSO DISCUSSED ARE PROBLEMS THAT ARISE FROM APPLYING THERAPEUTIC TECHNIQUES DESIGNED FOR UPPER AND MIDDLE CLASS PATIENTS TO OFFENDERS FROM LOWER CLASSES; FORMS OF THERAPY (PSYCHOANALYSIS, BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION, TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS, FAMILY THERAPY, GROUP THERAPY, CASEWORK, ETC.); USE OF THERAPISTS FROM OUTSIDE THE INSTITUTIONS; INMATE EDUCATION, VOCATIONAL TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCES; POSTRELEASE CARE; AND RESEARCH. A SUMMARY OF THE MAJOR CHARACTERISTICS OF EACH INSTITUTION (FACILITIES, ORGANIZATION, STAFF, INMATE PROGRAMS, SELECTION PROCEDURES, METHODS OF THERAPY, ETC.)
