This report presents the first historical compilation of Texas adult justice statistics from 1988 to 1998.
Abstract
The statistics include trends on reported index crimes, arrests, convictions, probation, prison sentences, releases from prison, correctional populations and capacities, populations under supervision, recidivism, jail populations, and operational costs of correctional programs. The sourcebook has been compiled with the assistance of State criminal justice agencies in Texas. It presents definitions of the terms used in reporting trends and explains the sources of information used.
