Abstract
THE REPORT PRESENTS THE EIGHT PRE-RELEASE CENTER PROGRAMS, WHERE SELECTED PRISONERS ARE ALLOWED TO WORK AT JOBS IN THE COMMUNITY AND RETURN TO DORMITORY-STYLE INSTITUTIONS AT NIGHT. PRISONERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PROGRAM FOR A PERIOD OF 90 DAYS TO ONE YEAR PRIOR TO RELEASE. POLICY FOR SELECTION, PASSES AND FURLOUGHS, AS WELL AS REMOVAL FROM THE PROGRAM ARE INCLUDED IN THE REPORT. STATISTICS ARE PROVIDED FOR INMATE SALARIES, OPERATING COSTS, AND RECIDIVISM.
