Abstract
IN ORDER TO ELUCIDATE THE BASIC FEATURES OF THE SPANISH JUDICIARY, THE AUTHOR ADMINISTERED A DETAILED QUESTIONNAIRE TO 194 JUDGES, SELECTED ON A PROPORTIONAL BASIS FROM THE FIVE LARGEST JUDICIAL DISTRICTS OF SPAIN. SUBJECTS WERE QUESTIONED ABOUT THEIR PERCEPTION OF THEIR ROLE, CAREER, SOCIAL STATUS, ENVIRONMENT, AND THEIR OPINIONS OF THE IDEAL JUDGE, JURIES, DIVORCE, AND STATUTES. THE AUTHOR ALSO CONSIDERS THE FRAMEWORK OF JUDICIAL ACTIVITY, BOTH STRUCTURALLY AND FUNCTIONALLY, HE CONCLUDES WITH AN ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY ON JUSTICE AND POLITICS IN PRESENT-DAY SPAIN. --IN SPANISH
