Abstract
Types of facilities to which the standards apply are large community programs, such as halfway houses and aftercare centers; group homes; and nonresidential day programs. The standards apply to all these facility types except when the standard is indicated to apply to a specific facility type. The standards are minimal requirements. Following the presentation of each standard, a brief interpretation is provided. Standards are categorized under the headings of administration, organization, and management; fiscal management; personnel; training and staff development; research and evaluation; records; facility; and safety and emergency procedures. Standards pertaining to services and program encompass sanitation and hygiene, food service, medical and health care services, supervision, and citizen and volunteer involvement. Admission procedures and policy, program types, and supervision are also encompassed in the standards. Glossary and American Correctional Association Code of Ethics.
