Abstract
THE QUESTIONNAIRE ASKED THE STATE PLANNING AGENCIES IF THEY COULD USE ADDITIONAL FUNDS IN 1976. FUNDS PROVIDED UNDER PART B OF THE FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS ARE EARMARKED FOR STATE AND REGIONAL PLANNING EFFORTS. PARTS C AND E FUNDS ARE FOR INNOVATIVE, NEW LAW ENFORCEMENT PROGRAMS. THE QUESTIONNAIRE WAS CIRCULATED MARCH THROUGH MAY 1974 TO THE 55 STATE AGENCY ADMINISTRATORS. ONLY THE NEW HAMPSHIRE AND AMERICAN SAMOA STATE ADMINISTRATORS DID NOT RESPOND. ALL RESPONDING STATE INDICATED THAT THEY COULD USE MORE FUNDS. FREQUENCY BAR CHARTS ON STATE RESPONSES ARE INCLUDED. RAW AND CATEGORIZED DATA FOR EACH ITEM ON THE QUESTIONNAIRE IS PRESENTED IN THE APPENDIX.
