This report presents statistics on the activities of the Los Angeles Police Department during 2000.
Abstract
The data began with statistics for each police station and geographic area regarding population, street miles, square miles, population per square mile, police costs per square mile, police costs per resident, arrests and traffic accidents per 1,000 population, reported Part I crimes and attempts, and a 10-year comparison of Part I crimes. The tables on crimes and other investigations detailed statistics on all Part I offenses and individual offenses, Part II offenses, arson, and law enforcement officers killed or assaulted. Additional statistics covered adult and juvenile arrests by location and offense type; by month and offense type; and by region. The data also covered dispositions. Further statistics cover traffic accidents by month and location, fatal traffic accidents by month and location, traffic accidents involving property damage, and citations by region. Other data focused on telephone calls received and units dispatched, police personnel characteristics, compensation data, training division curricula, automotive equipment, and monthly comparisons of selected crimes.
