Abstract
PROGRAM ATTEMPTS TO COLLECT AND DISSEMINATE INFORMATION TO PUBLIC OFFICIALS WHO CAN ESTABLISH AND OR EMPHASIZE CRIME PREVENTION MEASURES IN THE PHYSICAL PLANNING PROCESSES, LAYS THE FOUNDATION FOR ASSEMBLING THE INFORMATION, DEVELOPS ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES FOR APPLYING THE INFORMATION TO DIFFERENT PLANNING PROCESSES, IDENTIFIES MEANS OF INFORMING PUBLIC OFFICIALS OF THE VALUE OF THESE PROGRAMS, AND MEANS OF TRAINING LAW ENFORCEMENT AND PLANNING PERSONNEL IN THE APPLICATION OF THE INFORMATION TO VARIOUS TYPES OF DEVELOPMENTS, AND IDENTIFIES A PROGRAM FOR THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS TO PURSUE IN DISSEMINATING THE INFORMATION, SPONSORS THE TRAINING PROGRAMS, ENCOURAGES CITIES AND COUNTIES TO ADOPT THE PROGRAMS THROUGH GENERALIZED PROGRAMS AND PILOT PROJECTS, AND SPONSORING RESEARCH IN CERTAIN CRIME PREVENTION TECHNIQUES.
