DISCUSSION OF RESULTS FROM A VICTIMOLOGICAL STUDY OF 369 PERSONS REPORTING RAPE IN 1973 IN THE PHILADELPHIA AREA.
Abstract
THE TOTAL SAMPLE COMPRISED 185 ADULTS, 121 ADOLESCENTS, AND 64 CHILDREN. OF THESE, 20 PERCENT WERE WHITE AND 80 PERCENT NON-WHITE. THE RESULTS ARE DISCUSSED ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: AGE GROUP OF VICTIM, RATE, MARITAL STATUS, PLACE OF ATTACK, USE OF FORCE, RELATIONSHIP OF ATTACKER TO VICTIM, AND VICTIM'S POSTRAPE REACTION.
