Part One of this series of three articles discussed how exercise can impact a law enforcement officer's job performance, and the current article (Part Two) recommends specific products and tactics that can assist officers in achieving their fitness goals.
Abstract
The article's section on fitness wear discusses such items as shirts, shorts, pants, and running shoes. Various lines, items, and features of fitness wear are described in detail. Among the suggestions offered are ways to manage and reduce the bacterial smell of clothing used in fitness exercising. Another section of the article focuses on hydration products (products for carrying water). Among the suggestions offered are to use water-carrying products that don't add to the plastic taste, use of a self-sealing valve container when cycling, the use of smaller water bottles when running that also attach and detach via a lightweight carrying system. Other carrying methods for hydration products in various types of fitness exercising are also described. In addition, the article describes the features of various handguns suitable for carrying when running because of their light-weight, including the magazines and bullets they use. Other fitness equipment discussed includes music and music players used while exercising, pace counters, cadence monitors, heart rate monitors, GPS-enabled computer for cycling, fitness watch, and a light-weight badge/ID setup suitable for running.
