This online CD-Rom provides online access to information resources on law enforcement technology available from the Federal Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and its Federal partners (The National Institute of Justice and the Bureau of Justice Assistance), with attention to the technologies associated with the 311 non-emergency call system; crime mapping/crime analysis; interoperable communications/information sharing; information technology (IT) guides and reports; and surveillance video/in-car cameras.

Abstract

An annotated listing of 23 COPS publications provides an overview and general information on the features, purchase, and management of law enforcement technologies, with an emphasis on the aforementioned technology types. This is followed by annotated listings of publications for each of these technology types. Online access is provided for 7 publications related to the 311 non-emergency call system; 22 publications that address crime mapping/crime analysis; 13 information resources on interoperable communications/information systems; 9 IT guides and reports; and 4 listings that address surveillance video/in-car cameras. An index (Excel file) is provided of all publications on the CD-ROM.
