FORMAT FOR THE ADOPTION OF A MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES SYSTEM OF SECURITY FOR USE BY LARGE, MEDIUM, AND SMALL HUB AIRPORTS.
Abstract
MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES IS A CONCEPT WHICH EMPHASIZED ACHIEVING RESULTS BY ESTABLISHING DEFINITE GOALS FOR MANAGERS TO ACHIEVE WITHIN A GIVEN PERIOD. ITS APPLICATION TO THE AIRPORT SECURITY SITUATION IS DISCUSSED IN TERMS OF PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, AND EVALUATION. EXAMPLE ACTION PLANS ARE PRESENTED WHICH DEMONSTRATE THE CONCEPT'S PRINCIPLES OF MEANINGFUL AND MEASURABLE OBJECTIVES, CONSTANT MONITORING OF PERFORMANCE, AND INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR RESULTS.
