PROCEDURES FOR THE REQUISITIONING OF INFORMATION OF TEXAS LICENSED DRIVERS NAMED IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) TRAFFIC FILES.
Abstract
THE PLAN CALLS FOR THE MASTER DL (DRIVERS LICENSE) FILES TO BE PROGRAMED OR FLAGGED TO INDICATE THAT A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS CONTAINED THEREIN. THE LATEST INFORMATION WILL BE SENT TO THE HIGHWAY PATROL DISTRICT OR SUBDISTRICT HOLDING THE WARRANTS. REGULAR WARRANT SERVICE PROCEDURES ARE TO BE FOLLOWED UNTIL ALL REASONABLE EFFORTS TO LOCATE THE DEFENDANT HAVE FAILED AND THE WARRANT IS RETURNED TO THE DPS DISTRICT WHERE THE CASE IS FILED. THESE PAPERS SET FORTH CONDITIONS TO BE MET IN ORDER TO HAVE THE MASTER DL FILES FLAGGED AND THE WANTED FILES SET UP IN THE IDENTIFICATION AND CRIMINAL RECORDS DIVISION. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE LOCATIONS WHERE FILES ARE TO BE MAINTAINED, CANCELLATION OF REQUESTS AND- OR REINSTATEMENT, AND HANDLING OF DEFENDANTS WHEN LOCATED AND- OR ARRESTED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
