Annotation

This bibliography provides annotations for the principal sources of Texas criminal justice statistics.

Abstract

The listing annotates over 100 sources issued since 1970 by Texas State criminal justice agencies. Only studies with statewide scope have been included, but many statistics are reported by smaller geographic areas. The geographic index identifies reports with statistics by region, county, Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area, and city. The listings are presented under 10 subject areas: corrections; courts; crime; diversion; drugs; juveniles; law enforcement; pardons, paroles, and probation; public opinion; and victims. Within each subject section, currently issued periodicals or serials are first listed. Serials no longer published and monographs are then listed alphabetically by issuing agency and title. Bibliographic information covers sponsoring agency, agency division, publication title, authors, publication place, date, number of pages, and the series name. Financial reports pertaining to State agency operations are listed in the appendixes along with a list of State criminal justice agencies. Agency and title indexes.
