CASES ILLUSTRATIVE OF MILDER TYPES OF SEX OFFENSES, SUCH AS VOYEURISM, EXHIBITIONISM, AND FETISHISM, WHICH HAVE BEEN BROUGHT INTO CLINICS ATTACHED TO DISTRICT COURTS.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR STATES THAT SEX OFFENSES IN ADOLESCENCE HAVE NOT, AS A RULE, DEVELOPED INTO WELL-ESTABLISHED, HARDENED PERVERSIONS. THEY REFLECT THE ROLE CONFUSION AND CONFLICTS OVER SEXUALITY AND AGGRESSION OF THIS AGE GROUP. THERE IS A DANGER, HOWEVER, THAT THESE MILDER SEX OFFENSES MAY TURN INTO PERVERSIONS ONCE THEY HAVE BECOME ESTABLISHED UNDESIRABLE BEHAVIOR PATTERNS. THUS, THE PREVENTIVE VALUE OF TREATMENT AND GUIDANCE IN ADOLESCENCE MUST BE STRESSED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
