A STRUCTURED TRAINING PACKAGE DEVELOPED TO MEET THE DEMANDS OF POTENTIAL STATE MANDATED TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR PRIVATE SECURITY OFFICERS.
Abstract
DEVELOPED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD CONTRACTING SECTOR OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY, TIPS IS A STRUCTURED IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM THAT COMES COMPLETE WITH EXAMINATIONS, SUPERVISION INSTRUCTIONS, AND EMPLOYEE TRAINING CONTROL FORMS. SUBJECTS COVERED IN THIS TRAINING PROGRAM INCLUDE: AN INTRODUCTION TO LAW AND THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM; ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION, PUBLIC RELATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS; WEAPONS, DEFENSIVE TACTICS, AND GENERAL AND SPECIAL EQUIPMENT; OPERATIONS AND PROCEDURES; AND INVESTIGATION. THE TIPS PROGRAM IS APPLICABLE TO PRIVATELY EMPLOYED GUARDS, SECURITY OFFICERS, PATROLMEN, WATCHMEN, ALARM, COURIER, AND ARMORED-CAR PERSONNEL, AND ALL OTHER PERSONNEL PERFORMING SIMILAR FUNCTIONS. THE PROGRAM MAY ALSO BE USED FOR PRE-ASSIGNMENT TRAINING FOR NEW EMPLOYEES. IN THIS MODE, IT IS DESIGNED TO TAKE APPROXIMATELY 40 HOURS, INCLUDING RANGE AND BATON TIME, FOR THE AVERAGE NEW EMPLOYEE TO COMPLETE. (SNI ABSTRACT)
