Abstract
THE AUTHOR ATTEMPTS TO CONSOLIDATE INFORMATION ON TOOLMARK AND SHOE-TIRE IMPRESSIONS TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF REDUNDANT RESEARCH ON THE TOPIC; TO POINT OUT TRENDS, SUCH AS THE CATEGORIZATION OF TOOL MARKS; TO POINT OUT THOSE AREAS IN WHICH OUR KNOWLEDGE SHOULD BE ENLARGED; AND, TO USE AS MANY PHOTOGRAPHIC ILLUSTRATIONS AS POSSIBLE. TECHNIQUES USED IN MATCHING TOOL MARK STRIATIONS, IN PHOTOGRAPHING EVIDENCE, AND IN MAKING CASTS ARE PRESENTED. NUMEROUS PHOTOGRAPHS COMPLEMENT THE TEXT.
