              This instruction manual accompanies a course to train police officers of the St. Paul Police Department (Minnesota) in the care, maintenance, operating techniques, and firing of the Glock 17 semi-automatic pistol as a primary police sidearm.
          Abstract
              The course is 16 hours long and involves lecture, demonstration, and live fire. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to identify the external parts and features of the Glock pistol, field strip and clean it, and demonstrate proper loading and unloading procedures as well as proper procedures for clearing malfunctions. The proper stance, draw, and shooting positions for the Glock pistol will be taught, as will proficiency with the pistol during various shooting exercises. The manual provides information on pistol care and maintenance, field stripping, safety, a dry fire exercise, a magazine drill, and a live fire drill. A course schedule and test questions are included.
