Data on reported crime and law enforcement activities cover reported crimes, reported clearances, and reported arrests, while data on court, prosecution, pretrial, and probation focus on the activities of common pleas court, municipal court, probation and pretrial services, and the District Attorney Office. Corrections data are for both Philadelphia prisons and Pennsylvania State prisons. Juvenile justice data cover juvenile arrests for Part I crimes and total crimes, the juvenile court and Youth Study Center, and family court delinquency cases. The textual material accompanying tables and charts is explanatory rather than analytical or interpretive.
