Abstract
THIS CODE, WHICH WILL BE REVISED EVERY THIRD YEAR, PROVIDES MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY, HEALTH, AND WELFARE. AN ADMINISTRATION SECTION COVERS SCOPE, EXISTING INSTALLATIONS, ABATEMENT AUTHORITY, THE POWERS OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY, PERMIT COST AND APPLICATION, FEE SCHEDULE, AND PENALTY FOR NONCOMPLIANCE WITH THE CODE. SUBSEQUENT SECTIONS INCLUDE A DEFINITION OF TERMS AND STANDARDS FOR THE QUALITY AND WEIGHT OF MATERIALS AND PROVISION FOR ALTERNATE MATERIALS AND ALTERNATE METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION. ALSO DELINEATED ARE GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS IN SUCH AREAS AS HANGERS AND SUPPORTS, TRENCHING AND INSPECTIONAL AND TESTING. OTHER CHAPTERS INCLUDE SPECIFICATIONS ON THE TYPES OF JOINTS OR CONNECTIONS, THE REQUIREMENTS FOR TANK CONSTRUCTION, AND THE CONSTRUCTION AND LOCATION OF SOLAR COLLECTORS. REQUIREMENTS FOR INSULATION AND DUCT WORK ARE ALSO SPECIFIED. APPENDIXES CONTAIN A METRIC SYSTEM CONVERSION TABLE AND A LIST OF SYMBOLS COMMONLY USED IN SOLAR ENERGY APPLICATIONS.
