Abstract
The resource book also draws on United Nations publications and documents related to the computerization of criminal justice information. Presentations provided an overview of criminal justice information in the contemporary era of information technology, strategies for information management, and United Nations assistance to its member countries in introducing information technology in criminal justice. Additional presentations discussed legal and security issues in information management and reviewed the current status of computerization in criminal justice in the Republic of Korea. Participants in the training course noted several crucial issues for the future, including the need to make senior management in criminal justice aware that computerization is a means to improve the quality of criminal justice administration, the need for training and demonstration projects, and the need to develop funding alternatives for computerization projects. Illustrations, table, footnotes, glossary, appended guidelines for using the United Nations Crime and Justice Information Network and list of Internet resources in crime prevention and criminal justice
