Abstract
A BRIEF STATE-OF-THE-ART REVIEW OF AVM TECHNOLOGY INCLUDES DISCUSSIONS OF PROXIMITY, DEAD RECKONING, AND TRIANGULATION SYSTEMS. THE APPLICATION OF AVM TO BUS AND TAXI OPERATIONS AS WELL AS POLICE ACTIVITIES IS COVERED. THE DOCUMENT INCLUDES A SERIES OF RECOMMENDATIONS TO GUIDE FEDERAL POLICY REGARDING AVM.
