DISCUSSION OF THE INADEQUACIES OF TRADITIONAL ENTRY EXAMINATIONS, FOCUSING ON AN ALTERNATIVE SYSTEM WHICH COULD BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE WRITTEN EXAM.
Abstract
THE RECOMMENDED SELECTION STRATEGY IS BASED ON THREE MAJOR COMPONENTS. THESE INCLUDE SUCCESSFUL COMPLIANCE WITH A NUMBER OF PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS, COMPLETION OF AN ACADEMY TRAINING PROGRAM, AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A PROBATIONARY PERIOD OF AT LEAST ONE YEAR.
