Abstract
THIS COLLECTION REPRESENTS AN INTERDISCIPLINARY DISCUSSION, DRAWING FROM THE VIEWPOINTS OF LAWYERS, BEHAVIORAL SCIENTISTS, AND CONSUMERS OF APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS. THE TWO LEAD ARTICLES PRESENT BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE AND LEGAL POSITIONS ON THE USE OF BEHAVIORAL TECHNIQUES IN CLOSED INSTITUTIONS, EACH PROSPOSING GUIDELINES OR STANDARDS FOR THE APPLICATION OF THESE TECHNIQUES. THREE COMMENTARIES RELATED TO EACH ARTICLE ARE INCLUDED.
