Abstract
TOPICS OF DISCUSSION AT THE SEATTLE INSTITUTES WERE INDIAN CONCERNS, VOLUNTEERS IN CORRECTIONS, BLACK PERSPECTIVES ON CRIME AND CORRECTIONS, COMMUNITY-BASED CORRECTIONS, MENTAL RETARDATION AND THE LAW, DRUGS, CRIME, AND REHABILITATION. A LISTING OF FACULTY, STAFF, AND PARTICIPANTS, AND AN OUTLINE OF INSTITUTE DATES, LOCATIONS, NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS, OBJECTIVES, FIELD EXPERIENCES, AND PROGRAM CONTENTS AND SUMMARY ARE PROVIDED. ALSO INCLUDED IS A LIST AND BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF COMMUNITY PLACEMENT AND SUPPORT CENTERS. ADDITIONAL MATERIAL CONCERNS A STAFF TRAINING EXPERIMENT AT PURDY TREATMENT CENTER FOR WOMEN. THIS MATERIAL FOCUSES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF PARTICIPATORY MANAGEMENT AND A REPORT ON A THREE DAY PROJECT WHICH STUDIED THE COMMUNITY AS A SITE AND SOURCE OF CORRECTIONAL REHABILITATION. THIS PUBLICATION ALSO CONTAINS A THEORETICAL DISCUSSION OF HUMAN RELATIONS WITHIN THE ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE.
